About the event
At the Contemporary Arts Center, we are kicking things of celebrating Art & Hip-hop with Danny Simmons, abstract impressionist and philanthropist.
Cinema & Cocktails continues our tradition of thought provoking screenings. This year we are screening a special segment of the PBS, Culture Quest series about the innovation interdisciplinary Ghanaian artist, Serge Clottey. We will also share 2 beautiful shorts by the dance collective Porte Avion, from Besançon, France.
Our screenings lead perfectly into our exchanges with activists and educators on our International Artists Panel. Our guests are : Wissal (Bologna, IT) / Samba Sir X (Napoli, IT) / Flavia Giglio (Napoli, IT) Dallas Clark (Springfield, MA) / Mams (Besançon, FR) / Josè Shungu (Besançon, FR)
The evening will include Tommy Gun Sessions (High Velocity / Heavy Impact Spoken Word) with Isaiah Cook (drums) / DJ WellBlended / (poets) Ursula Rucker / Napoleon Maddox / CJ the Cynic .
